MetLife Coverage Availability & Fees
MetLife offers several different dental plans, each of which comes with its own set of stipulations. Here is a general overview of the coverage that you might enjoy with a MetLife PPO plan:
- Preventive care: Up to 100% covered.
- Minor services: Up to 80% covered.
- Major services: Up to 50% covered.
- Orthodontia: Up to 50% covered.
Here are a few additional notes to keep in mind about how your MetLife policy might apply to the services available in our practice:
- Not all MetLife plans cover orthodontic care. If you are currently shopping for a policy, it is important to find out if braces and related services are included in your coverage.
- Some plans may exclude certain orthodontic services. For example, some dental insurance plans cover braces but not clear aligners. Others cover orthodontia for minors but not for adults.
- There may be a lifetime maximum on how much MetLife is willing to pay for orthodontia. Usually, that maximum is around $1,000.
As an in-network MetLife orthodontist, our team will be happy to help you figure out how to use your benefits in the most advantageous way. Also, because we have a contract with MetLife, you may enjoy the lowest out-of-pocket fees when you visit us instead of an out-of-network provider.
